HB760
relative to temporary relief in a domestic violence proceeding.
SUPPORT
This bill requires the plaintiff to testify at the hearing for temporary relief in a domestic violence proceeding, for the hearing to be on the record, and for a record of the testimony to be made available to either party.

Unfortunately, this bill was found INEXPEDIENT TO LEGISLATE. Requiring the plaintif to testify after a domestic abuse charge is fair and more in keeping with the spirit of the law in this country, and so is requiring the testimony to be recorded and made available to all parties. Because domestic violence is an awful thing, complaints are too often rubber-stamped, and this bill would have gone a long way toward stopping that.

HB906
relative to an informed jury.
SUPPORT
The bill stated that in all criminal proceedings the court would instruct the jury of its inherent right to disregard the law and the facts in controversy and to nullify any and all actions they find to be unjust. The court would also have been required to allow the defendant or counsel for the defendant to explain this right of jury nullification to the jury.

Most unfortunatelly, this bill was found INEXPEDIENT TO LEGISLATE. This bill was one of the most important bills before the legislature this or any other year, because it confirmed the right of the people established when this country was founded. Hopefully, the sponsors of this bill, along with other freedom-minded legislators, will propose this again and get it passed.

This bill permits an official authorized to issue licenses to carry pistols and revolvers to deny a license to any person the official reasonably believes to be a member of a terrorist or criminal organization. The bill also prohibits the award of attorney’s fees and costs personally against an employee or official of a licensing entity.

This all-around bad bill was, happily, found INEXPEDIENT TO LEGISLATE, thanks in great part to an overwhelming number (an estimated 600 or more) of our members and supporters showing up for the hearing. Thank you!
